Lasik eye surgery is performed in 2 stages. In the first step a flap of corneal tissue is created in which corneal suction ring is applied to the patients eye. In this process, sometimes, blood vessel gets burst and it results in bleeding, though gets resolved within few weeks. In the second step, excimer laser is used to remodel the corneal stroma. The Lasik surgery in this stage is used for vaporizing of tissues in a controlled manner and then layers of tissues are removed which are tens of micrometers thick. At the second stage, the patients vision becomes blurry and he or she is able to see only white light around the laser.
Lasik eye surgery has taken many forms. One of its forms is Wavefront guided Lasik wherein an ophthalmologist applies computers guided and guided excimer laser and it has measurements from a wavefront sensor laser technology. The goal of this is to restore perfect vision in the patients eyes. This technology does not result in super vision or cures the eye defect 100%. Lasik doctors have claimed that patients with this form of surgery are more satisfied than with the previous methods. With the advantage of lower Lasik surgery cost and easier surgery this method is really becoming popular.
